Dear Friends,

Welcome. This year has been unlike anything any of us have ever experienced. As we usher in 2021 with hope and anticipation, I’d like to remind you that you are not alone. You are loved and needed in this world, just as you are. Right now, most of us are feeling more isolated than ever, but you are not alone.

This year has been a fire that has burnt away all of the excess in our lives. The things that didn’t matter as much as we thought they did have fallen away, bringing new clarity on the most important things to each of us. As we enter this new season, this new year, may our lives come together again, integrating the silver linings discovered within 2020.

May 2021 bring you flourishing, calm and joy. May it bring lots of hugs, gatherings and connections in person. We have all wished for so many things during 2020 that we previously took for granted, and these longings, these desires, these unfulfilled dreams have changed us. There has been deep grief in the loss we’ve experienced, and it seems that we have become more grateful for the things we hold most dear, and have held onto those we love a little bit tighter each night. We have been reminded that people matter, that our connections to one another are what keep us going, and we have discovered ways we treasure one another that may have been unknown when we were always so occupied with the outside world.

When someone asked us how we were doing in 2020, if we felt good, we said “COVID good”, which explained perfectly how we might be okay that day, but we’d fall apart in a few weeks, gather ourselves back together and keep going. We had to, there was no choice.

In my daughter’s school, they spoke a lot about pivoting once school began this fall. She learned to pivot in dance, pivot in creating, pivot in life. Flexibility and understanding became so valued in ways they hadn’t been before 2020.

As 2021 unfolds, it may take some time to be able to dream, to access what lies beneath the deep grief and loss that many have encountered- so be gentle with yourself if it takes a little longer than usual to figure out where to from here. I’d like to let you know that I see the great need in our society to connect right now, so if you need coaching but can’t afford it, please don’t let that hold you back from reaching out to me. I am taking on a few new clients in 2021 who are willing and ready to create positive new changes in their lives, regardless of anything else. Your location doesn’t matter as I’m working with people all over the world via zoom.

Things will get better. Remember to breathe. Share your light with others, and as Dr. Bonnie Henry says, “Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Safe”.

Sending love to you and your family,
